How we help

A family firm ready to stand between you and the insurance company.

Property owners and businesses may be responsible when unsafe conditions cause preventable injuries. We investigate how long the hazard existed, what the owner knew, and whether reasonable steps could have prevented the accident.

We take time to understand not only how the incident happened, but how the injury has changed your work, health, independence, and family life. That full picture guides our approach to negotiation and, when necessary, litigation.

Before your first conversation

Preparing to discuss an unsafe-property injury

You do not need a complete file to contact us. Start with the facts you know; keep original documents and photographs, and tell us about any upcoming deadlines.

  • The exact location, date, time, and a description of the condition that caused the fall.
  • Original photographs, witness details, and any incident report or communication with the property owner.
  • The footwear worn, treatment information, and any photographs showing lighting, weather, or warning signs.

Use the initial inquiry form for a short summary. Do not send medical records, account numbers, or other highly sensitive documents through that form; ask the firm how to provide documents appropriately.

What information helps explain an unsafe condition?

The location and condition of the surface, lighting, weather, and what happened immediately before the injury can all matter. Tell us whether anyone reported the hazard or saw it earlier. An injury on someone else’s property does not, by itself, establish liability; the circumstances need to be investigated.

Insurance knowledge, grounded in experience

Luciano L. “Nino” Lama worked in insurance before becoming an attorney. Learn about his insurance industry background and published insurance books. Our father-and-son firm pairs that perspective with attention to the facts of each injury claim.

Do not wait for a complete file to ask about deadlines.

Time limits depend on the claim and circumstances. Insurance requirements and claims involving public entities may require earlier action. An inquiry does not extend a deadline or establish representation. The New York Courts time-limit overview provides general information, not a determination of your deadline.
